The history of Vienna is particulary interwoven with the history of her jews. See the Synogoge, the museum on Judenplatz with subterranean rests of the medieval synagogue and the Jewish Welcome Service, the jewish museum which offers visitors a rare occasion to view the complete Museum stocks. The enormous wealth of objects is a reminder of the formerly flourishing Jewish community of Vienna. Today the City Temple and the entire building complex at Seitenstettengasse 4 is the religious, cultural and social centre of Jewish life in Vienna. It was built in the Austrian Biedermeier era and is a very lovely building, that is accessable every day at 2pm. We can also visit the memorial for the victims of the Nazi´s tyranny and Sigmund Freud´s museum. Depending on your personal schedule there is the possibility to discover “The stones of rememberance” through the 2nd district, which is up to now called ''mazzes-island'' in Vienna.
