Corcovado, Tijuca National Park and Botanical Garden (8 hours):
Pick-up at your guesthouse/hotel after breakfast. The day starts visiting the 710 m high Corcovado-mountain with the world famous statue of Christ the Redeemer. You will enjoy an outstanding view over Rio de Janeiro, Guanabara bay neighboring Niteroi’s ocean beaches and Organ pipe mountains. Next, a tour through the Floresta da Tijuca National Park, the world's largest urban jungle with breathtaking views, waterfalls and the rich tropical vegetation of the Atlantic Rainforest. You will do an easy hike of one hour and have the opportunity to take a delicious shower in the small hidden waterfall in the middle of the forest. Afterwards we will head to the famous Botanical Gardens. The Jardim Botânico, was founded in 1808, and is considered one of the world's most beautiful botanical gardens, with 7200 species of flowers, plants and trees. The garden is designed as a landscape park and beautifully embedded at the foothills of the surrounding mountains. You will be transferred back to your guesthouse at around 5pm.

Hiking to one of the most beautiful spots of Rio de Janeiro you’ll be rewarded with some breathtaking views and make an intense social experience at the same time.
After breakfast pick-up at your guesthouse/hotel and transfer to the end of the Leblon beach. At the entrance of the community of Vidigal we’ll take a public transport on the steep streets through the slum. On its upper part we’ll start our 90 minutes hike through the dense forest to the top of the higher one of the Dois Irmãos hills (533m), overlooking the Rocinha and the Vidigial favela, the Tijuca forest, stunnig rocky formations, the Lagoon and all the beaches of Rio’s Southern District. You’ll get information about the life of the inhabitants of the poor communities, the new pacification process and have the opportunity to discuss social questions of the Brazilian society.

In February 2012 we had a very pleasant day with our guide Annette. She picked us up at our hotel exactly at the marked time. As we had agreed to make a different tour than any other guide offers we started in direction of Grumari to know that marvelous beach there.
