I am Biologist of the Tolima University with 10 years of experience in Bird watching. I worked whit diferent endangered especies of birds in Colombia as Blue-billed Curassow, Recurved-billed Bushbird, Tood´s Parakeet, Tolima Dove, and other. I won a prize with the BP Conservation Program when i was General Manager of this importante project, and I am a local birding guide, co-leader and tour leader guide for important birding tour companies.

Guided tour #1: MAGDALENA VALLE, & CARIBBEAN COAST - SIERRA NEVADA DE SANTA MARTA

An exciting trip of 19 days by the interandino-valley of the river's largest and longest of Colombia: Magdalena; enjoy of biodiversity and about 70 endemic species and near endemic species that exist between 150 meters and 4000 meters above sea level on a journey of over 1000 km, from the country center starting in the capital, Bogota to the north in the Guajira Peninsula passing by the very famous Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the highest and closer to the sea snow mountain in the world and one of the greatest endemism centers on the planet.

Meet thirteen beautiful and important sites for nature conservation in Colombia, including three National Parks (Chingaza, Yariguies and Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta), a Sanctuary of Fauna and Flora (Los Flamencos) and six private nature reserves (Tabacal , Bella Vista, Paujil, Cerulea, Hormiguero and El Dorado) between other perfect locations for birdwatching and nature tourism. Different ecosystems among those are outlined: paramos of the Eastern Cordillera near Bogotá, tropical moist forests in the valley of the Magdalena’s river, pre-montane forests of the Serrania de los Yariguies, the bamboo forests home of bushbird in Santander of the North, rainforests and mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the dry (xerophytic) forests of La Guajira.
