The department of Santander can count with more than 700 kilometers of these stone trails, or ''caminos reales''. Hikers indulge in a wonderful world for every taste. It is their paradise in beautiful countryside with its warm yellow soil, surrounded by an abundant vegetation and crops of tobacco, aloe vera, yucca, sugarcane and cotton.
On our tour we will visit the colonial towns of Barichara (a national monument since 1975 and considered to be the ''most beautiful village of Colombia'') and Guane. We will get to know the archaeological museum in Guane, which hosts a collection of relics of this great native nation and impressive fossils of the Suárez river. We will visit the churches and town squares in both villages as well as the sculpture park Parque de las Artes and the viewpoint overlooking the Suárez valley in Barichara.
