Chamarel: Beyond a Trek
A full day trek with typical Mauritian lunch
This full day trek is unique, great, passionate.
The trail starts behind the restaurant Le Chamarel and progresses towards Piton Canot for a beautiful panoramic view of the entire region. The path proceeds to the South with some amazing view points on the valley of Chamarel towards the East and the great lagoon of the Fonds Blancs on the West.
The trek goes on and we enter Mont sur Mont. The endemic forest there is amazing. The path goes through, on the edge of mountain La Porte and Piton du Fouge. The view over the Morne Brabant is just breathtaking!
The visit of the coloured earth and the highest waterfall of the island come next and is worth it.
A typical Mauritian lunch served at the kiosk of La Vieille Cheminee is more than appreciated so much the scenery is beautiful.
A walk around the property is enjoyable, through the different plantations and sometimes along the river in a quiet single track, under the forest.
The little stop over at the cute farm ends up this amazing day in nature.
Nothing less for a fantastic everlasting souvenir!
Trekking half day: with drinks and snacks
This half day trek starts in the private property of Mont sur Mont. Both types of trails are used: single track and 4x4 ones! The views and the scenery are absolutely fantastic: Coconut Island and the lagoon on the West, the world known Morne Brabant on the South together with Fournaux Island, on the other side of the famous mountain, as well as the entire valley of Chamarel on the East.
The trail goes round and includes the visit of the coloured earth and the highest waterfall. Simply a must!

ce guide est super, nous avons fais l'ascension du morne brabant, classé, on a appris plein sur l'histoir de cette peninsule. C'est sportif confirmé tres sympathique !!!
