Local guide in Lisbon
I am a Portuguese licensed freelance guide working full time in Lisbon and surroundings. I have finished my 3 years studies in the High Tourism School in 1992 and since then I have been guiding groups and privates in German, Italian and English.
To travel is to learn so I would like to be your ambassador during some hours or days in Lisbon and to contribute to your knowledge about Portugal. I can show you the high lights of Lisbon like the Tower of Belem and the Jeronimos Monastery – both world heritage, the Cathedral, S. Roque church, the Tile and Coach Museum and the romantic Sintra as well as the summer resort Cascais in the surroundings of Lisbon. I´m glad to explain about the gastronomy, economy, among other details that only an official local tour guide can do. Lisbon is a town with a peculiar physiognomy with its 7 hills so is the perfect town for a nice walking tour. Where to go? What to visit? Where to eat? I am here to help you!!!

Guided tour #1: Medieval Lisbon

Duration : 1 day
Level : medium Medium
Martim Moniz Square near down town is our starting point and since you are fresh we begin our walking tour with – the Escadinhas da Saude/ the Health Staircase with 5 fligths of stairs. We left the cosmopolitan down town and in this hill we are back in time because you´ll see old churches, the Beco da Achada with probably the oldest house in Lisbon, the Castle of S. George (entrance ticket not included). The view from S. Lucia´s terrace is a must but what is expecting us is even better because Alfama is a unique quarter with lots of steeps, narrow streets and blind alleys in each corner like a real labyrinth!! Brief visit of the Cathedral- The oldest church in town from 1147 indicate us that since then Lisbon is no longer a Muslim but a Christian town.
Going down the river we stop for a photo in the House of the Pointed Stones.
