Rural Romania Travel Guide - Tailor Made Travels

As a child I grew up in the village with my grandparents and loved being surrounded by nature, traditions, kind people and real food. Later on I lived in Brussels, Warsaw, Istanbul and Cairo, cities with a bustling life and energy but I was missing the peacefulness of the countryside. So I decided to return to Romania, explore its fascinating rural life, introduce it to other travelers and help preserve the local heritage.

With me as your guide we’ll visit rural places where time stood still: subsistence farming communities, shepherds and craftsmen using what nature provides. You’ll also meet very interesting and kind locals, discover traditions, history of the people and places and eat home-made, home-grown local food.
If we’re lucky we might even attend a traditional wedding or festival and learn how to dance.

From villages we can also explore nature, mountains, rivers, caves and lakes and observe Romania’s rich wildlife. We can do it by foot or bike.

We’ll stay in family guesthouses, some old, some newer but respecting local architecture. This way you’ll experience true hospitality.
