Explore Moscow and get photographed
Moscow is full of unique photographic spots. And one the pleasures of travelling is to convert memories into pictures. Beautiful, crisp images enable us to live through the most adventurous moments of a journey again and again. Pictures speak better than words when we share impressions with friends and family.
But it's hard to get a picture of yourself when you travel solo. Even for 2-3 people taking photos can be difficult - one person hides behind the camera and the group is never together. Low level of light can be a problem for compact cameras which tourists mostly use, and to travel with heavy professional equipment is uncomfortable.
I offer you a variety of photo walks to the most beautiful areas of Moscow. You don't need to think about the technical side. Just enjoy and get more than 150 professional images within few hours (images from my camera can be uploaded to your computer right after the tour + I send you postprocessed in 1-2 weeks via file hosting). During photo walks I use camera Canon 5D mark II, Canon ''L'' lenses and flash Canon Speedlite 430ex II.

If you prefer to take pictures yourself I'll show you the best places during cultural tours.

Guided tour #5: Russian cooking master class

Duration : 1 day
Level : medium Medium
Want to try something different? What about Russian cooking?

During your Moscow trip you will for sure visit some local restaurants. But what about going deeper into Russian culture and life style understanding? What about entering the real people’s homes and trying to cook the traditional Russian dishes with your own hands? Within 2-3 hours you’ll be able to create a 100% authentic dinner and feel the true taste of being a Muscovite. Hotel pick up service and all ingredients included.

Please, choose the dishes you want to cook from the list below:

Borsch - the most famous Russian soup of reddish-purple color, consisting of beetroot, potatoes, cabbage, carrot, meat, onions and tomatoes. It's usually served hot, with sour-cream and bread. There is also a vegetarian variation of this dish.

Schi — a second popular soup in Russia with cabbage (fresh or sour) as main ingredient. In fact it's very similar to borsch, but it doesn't contain beetroot and the amount of tomatoes in it is smaller, which makes the broth clear with almost no color. Meat is not a must.

Chanterelle mushroom soup - as you can guess by its name contains the beloved by Russians chanterelle mushroom as main ingredient. Other ingredients are potatoes, carrots, onions and dill or parsley for fragrance. This transparent soup is usually served with squared pieced of dried bread and sometimes with sour-cream.

Pelmeni are the dumplings of meat wrapped in thin dough. The origin of this dish is Siberia. The dough is made of flour, water and egg (not obligatory). Sometimes mushrooms are used instead of meat. Pelmeni can be boiled, fried or baked. They are served with sour-cream, mustard, black pepper and sometimes vinegar.

Varenyki as well as pelmeni are stuffed dumplings, but there is a difference. Pelmeni are smaller than vareniki and they are taken as a main course. Vareniki are served as a dessert. The filling can be mashed potato, cheese, sauerkraut or various berries. Possible dressings: sour-cream, melted butter or fried onions sauce.

Pirozki are stuffed buns, fried or baked, of individual size. The dough can be yeast or unleavened, the stuff almost any: meat, fish, mushrooms, fruit or berries, boiled eggs, rice… I recommend you to cook the pirozki with mashed potato fried on a dry pan. They have a flat shape, taste incredibly delicious and served with melted butter.

Russian blini are thin fried pancakes of a round shape. At pre-Christian times they symbolized Sun. Blini are traditionally cooked during Butter Week, but due to their wonderful taste are welcomed on everyday table. They can be served with different dressings: caviar, fish, meat, cheese, potatoes, mushroom, honey, jam, melted butter or fresh berries.

Russian salad (New Year Olivier) - the most traditional dish for the New Year celebration in Russia. Foreigners call it Russian Salad. Its home made version contains cold meat, potatoes, carrots, onions, eggs, cucumbers, green peas and mayonnaise.

Vinegret is a healthy salad of beetroot, carrots, potatoes, pickles, green peas and onions dressed with sunflower oil. It's an everyday dish which goes perfectly with boiled sausages.

Dressed herring under fur coat a layered salad with sliced herring as the main ingredient covered with «fur coat» of beetroot, carrots, onions, potatoes and mayonnaise. This is one the the favorite New Year dishes of Soviet housewives.

Mimosa is one of the most beautiful Russian salads and it's served in a transparent dish. As well as herring under fur it’s layered, but the ingredients are different. The main one is canned salmon which is placed on the bottom of a dish and topped with boiled egg whites, potatoes, frozen butter pieces, carrots, apple and onions. The final layer consists of egg yolks which makes the salad resemble the flower of mimosa. This dish is cooked for big family events. It's very juicy, tastes unusual and melts in the mouth.
