This tour starts at one of the most important sculpture musueums in Spain.
This museum has an extensive sculptural collection ranging from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century from convents, donations, deposits and acquisitions of the state. The collection enjoys a well-established personality, which stems from its dedication to sculpture carved in wood and poly- chromed. Guided tour #3: Segovia

Duration : 1 day
Segovia is a city full of ancient history, which origin dates back to Celtiberian tribes, who built it in a craggy rock made of limestone. The height of the cliff is over 1000 meters above sea level. The silhouette drawn on the Castilian clean sky has been compared, from the 16th century, to a ship made of stone, waiting for the two rivers that flow on its feet (Eresma and Clamores) to flood the valley, so it can sail to the vast sea of the plateau.

The city's well-preserved medieval structure was one of the arguments put forward in order to obtain the World Heritage title which it recieved in 1985.

Segovia's historic centre begins with the aqueduct leading us through its beautiful cobble streets surrounded by protective walls and fortified turret. This tour will enable the visitor to admire the most impresive monuments of Segovia:

1. ROMAN AQUEDUCT

The Roman aqueduct is and will forever be a symbol of the city and Western culture. This 2000-year-old monument is one of the greatest pieces of work left by the Romans.

2. CATHEDRAL

We will be visiting the Cathedral which is known as the “Dama de las Catedrales”,(Lady of Cathedrals) due to its elegance and slenderness.

3. ALCAZAR
Another important place of interest in Segovia is the Alcázar, crowning the city, with the rivers Eresma and Clamores on either side. This is one of the most impressive spanish castles. In the 12th century it became home to the Royal Family, witnessing historical events such as Queen Isabel the Catholic Monarch leaving the castle on the day of her coronation as Queen of Castilla in 1474.

Guided tour #4: Ávila

Duration : 1 day
Ávila is one of the oldest cities in Spain. The Celtic Iberians were the first to leave their mark, which can be seen in the stone boars and the nearby Castro de las Cogotas (hill fort), epicentre of the Vettone culture. The Romans also reached this area and the Arabs filled the area with their culture until the final conquest by the Christians.

Its city walls are considered as one of the best preserved in the world and its Cathedral was the first one built under the Gothic style in Spain.

Ávila is also well-known by the high number of romanesque churches such as the Iglesias de San Pedro, San Andres, San Esteben, San Segundo, San Nicolas, San Martin or Santo Tomé.
