I am a graduate student in English literature. I am doing my second year of MA at the university of aleppo, syria. I taught English for awhile, but i did not enjoy! or I did not find myself in that field. I followed tourim and took a course in tourism and history. Therefore, I got my license as a nationl guide for syria. I enjoy guiding and love showing poeple the beauty and greatness of my country. A country which has not only been the cradle of civilizations, but the civilizations were born there. Discovering syria in 14 days
Day 1 - Full day city tour of Damascus: starting with the museum, then the gates and the wall of the old city, the souqs, Umayyad mosque, Hanania house, the straight street( via recta),Al Azem palace and caravensaries.
Day 2 - Half a day trip to Ma'lula, one of the only three villages speaking Aramiac (Christ language) in the world.
Day 3 - a day trip to Bosra, where you visit the ancient Roman city and one of the greatest theaters in the world.
Days 4 +5 : visiting Palmyra Roman ruins: Museum, the valley of tombs, Bel temple, collonade street.
Day 6: Deir Ezzour: visiting Mari and Doura Europos on the banks of the Euphrates river.
Days 7+8: Aleppo city (the oldest continously inhabited city in the world), the medieval ages souq, the biggest citadel in syria, the handicrafts souq, mosques, city gates and walls.
Day 9: trekking among the dead cities and visiting Saint Simeon monastery and cathedral.
Day 10: going by train to Lattakia and visiting Saladin's castle( who defeated crusades)
Day 11 : visiting Hama ( the norias city), Apamia ''a Hellenistic and Roman city'', dead cities '' Serjella and Al Bara'' two of the some 800 small towns dating back to the 4th century A.D.
Day 12 : Crac des chevaliers, the most complete crusades castle, not only in syria but in the world.
Day 13: Mar mousa monstery, a monstery dating back to the 6th century.
Day 14: return to damascus and flying back home.
