The complete City tour of Montevideo lasts 4 hours aprox. and includes a visit to: Ciudad Vieja (Old City), the Cathedral and Colonial Town Hall, Club Uruguay, Solis Theater,18 de Julio (main) Ave., Independence Square, Supreme court of Justice, Parliament Palace, the romantic neighborhood known as ''el Prado'' and one of the oldest parks in Montevideo that features beautiful sculptures, Batlle Park, elegant residential areas like Punta Carretas and Pocitos. The return drive is along the coast to see the long stretch of beautiful beaches.
The tour finishes at the entrance of “Mercado del Puerto” (port market) where you can enjoy not only a traditional meal with top meats in the world but also a place filled with music, crafts, and colorful people. The market is just across the street from the entrance to the harbor and the cruiser’s pier.
Some other options:
1) Visit to “El Cerro” , a 500 feet high hill overlooking the harbour and the city, with it’s colonial military fortress and military museum. (adds 45 minutes to normal tour). No additional cost.
2) Visit to “Los Yuyos”, a 105 year old traditional bar to taste one of their varieties of “grappa” distilled from grapes with a mixture of local herbs. (adds 30 minutes to normal tour). No additional cost. “Grappa” a compliment from me.
3) Visit to a boutique winery, with a guided tour through the vineyards, the winemaking factory and wine tasting of different wines within the premises. (Adds 2 ½ hours to normal tour). Cost: visit and wine tasting with cold cuts ands cheeses USD $35 per person.
4) Other options according to your interests.

Uruguay’s cuisine is a blend of Spanish, Italian, French and Swiss foods and recipes brought in by our ancestors in the 19th century, added to the traditional way of broiling beef in any wood fire by the first “gauchos” that populated the country.
Tour Highlights:
Our proposal is to introduce you to the flavours and aromas of our very fine wines, accompanied by cold cuts, sausages and cheeses in the nice atmosphere of a boutique winery cellar, with a previous visit to the vineyards and the wine making facilities, where you can learn the techniques of winemaking, the different varieties of grapes produced and how wines are kept and improved.
To close the day, a magnificent lunch at the Mercado del Puerto (Port market) enjoying the tenderness and flavours of our beef, form cattle raised naturally in the prairie in a marriage with our best Tannat wines.
